Heavy-Duty Sandbags - Military Grade UV-Protected Polypropylene, 12" × 15"
Emergency Flood Protection
These military-grade polypropylene sandbags provide professional-level flood protection, erosion control, and temporary barriers for emergency preparedness and construction applications. Trusted by government agencies including the US Army and Red Cross, these heavy-duty bags feature a robust 10×10 weave count and 1600 hours of UV protection—delivering the reliability you need when protecting your home, business, or construction site from water damage.
Critical Safety Guidelines
Sandbag filling and placement is physically demanding work that can cause back, shoulder, and hand injuries. Always wear heavy-duty gloves to protect from contaminants in sand and floodwater. Use safety goggles on dry, windy days. Lift with your legs, not your back—never reach out, bend over, or twist when lifting. Don't throw sandbags; instead, use a brigade line to pass bags along. Use a short-handled #2 rounded point shovel with straight shaft and D-grip for optimal filling efficiency and injury prevention.
Professional Installation Best Practices
Remove debris from areas where sandbags will be placed. Start at the lowest elevation and work upward. Stagger bags like bricks in a wall for maximum strength. After placing each bag, walk on it to create tight seals between bags. For flood barriers, create a pyramid cross-section: 3 bags wide at base, 2 bags for second layer, 1 bag on top. Tuck and fold bag tops under rather than leaving them exposed. For temporary barriers, anchor first layer with stakes if needed.
