ICC-ES Certified Engineered Flood Vent - 5" Depth Multi-Purpose with Air Circulation
Flood Protection
This ICC-ES certified engineered flood vent provides FEMA-compliant automatic flood protection while allowing continuous air circulation—the dual-purpose solution for crawl spaces, garages, and enclosed areas below base flood elevation. Unlike non-engineered flood vents that simply provide openings, this engineered model is designed and certified by ICC-ES to meet the performance standards required by federal flood regulations.
UV-Enhanced Durable Construction
Molded from engineered ABS plastic with UV stabilizers, this flood vent withstands decades of exposure to sunlight, temperature extremes, and weather without degrading. Unlike metal vents that rust or wood frames that rot, ABS maintains structural integrity and appearance indefinitely. The included trim frame provides a finished appearance while covering the 16" × 8" rough opening.
Versatile Installation Applications
Install in crawl space foundation walls, walkout enclosures, garages below base flood elevation, storage buildings, metal buildings, foyers, stairway enclosures, or any enclosed area under predicted flood levels where both flood protection and natural airflow are needed. The 5-inch depth model fits standard foundation wall thicknesses common in residential construction.
Important FEMA Terminology Note
Federal policy does not allow FEMA to approve, endorse, certify, or recommend any products. While this product complies with FEMA design guidance and NFIP requirements, terms like "FEMA approved" or "FEMA certified" are technically incorrect. The proper terminology is "ICC-ES certified engineered opening that meets NFIP requirements."
