Crawlspace Vapor Barriers – Important!

Crawlspace Vapor Barriers - Important!

Vapor barriers in a crawl space are important because the earth adds an ample amount of moisture to a crawl space. Moisture causes mold, rot, and mildew. Most vapor barriers are 6 to 12 mil thick. When laying your vapor barrier you want to overlap and tape together each piece to form a solid barrier; using gravel or pins to hold it in place. They are inexpensive and help to greatly reduce moisture.
